Common Sense

The knack of seeing things as they are and doing things as they ought to be done.”

Harriet Beecher Stowe, on being asked the meaning of “common sense.”

Some men see things as they are and say, ‘Why?’ I dream of things that never were and ask, ‘Why not?'”

Robert F. Kennedy, paraphrasing a quotation from Act I in the play Back to Methuselah by George Bernard Shaw.

This was formerly the Welcome page. For several reasons, I will no longer be writing articles for or posting them to the blog. So, this is now the Farewell page. I had fun. One never knows what will happen. Perhaps I will return to it. But, for now anyway, goodbye.

CODA:  I have decided I may try my hand at writing again, but not on this site. I was surprised (but glad) to see that even in my absence, people still visited and read some of the articles posted here. For that reason, I am going to keep this site open. Any new pieces that I manage to compose, however, I am going to post on Substack.com. Still techno illiterate, I have not quite figured out whether I have to create a “name” to use if I write or if I just use my “handle” of “@craignmoore” or my email address. In any event, if any reader wishes to follow me there, it is a pretty open forum. If you just search for my real name, I suspect you will find me easily. If I figure things out, I will come back here and post something more helpful.

Thanks so much for reading. I hope your visits were worth it. I also hope you will follow my writing at the new platform.
